Frans van Steenis is not telling the truth
After reading the interview by the Hague City Firm with the chairman of ADO’s Supervisory Board, Frans van Steenis, UVS is shocked by the fact that there is absolutely no truth in a lot of his answers.
Regarding the fact that – as said by van Steenis – “UVS failed to find a buyer”, this is of course totally untrue. UVS has had agreements with World Soccer Holdings, Cosinus, Martin Jol and now – HHC-Lentze-Jol.
In every case, it was the Supervisory Board and/or the ADO management who has done everything possible to frustrate the deal. For example by giving them false information, leaking information and lots of other destructive actions.
Without this sabotage from their side, ADO could have had a new owner months ago, therefore avoiding the deduction of 3x three points.
Thankfully UVS has reached an agreement with HHC-Lentze-Jol a long time ago, although it has been clear to us that Mr van Steenis and the ADO management are doing their utmost to frustrate this deal too.
His remark that the Chinese members of the Supervisory Board “have been involved in all important decisions”, could not be further from the truth. Felix Wu Xue Song and Andrew Chew Wei Xing were surprised by the emergency Supervisory meeting on the weekend of May 15th and 16th after the sudden departure of Mohammed Hamdi. They were then confronted by the fact that the totally unknown Mr. Reijntjes was proposed by the Dutch members of the Supervisory Board to become the new CEO. They abstained to support this appointment.
Since then there has not been a regular meeting of the Supervisory Board with – as a consequence no influence at all from Felix Wu Xue Song or Andrew Chew Wei Xing.
UVS, therefore, takes the position that the Supervisory Board has not taken any legally valid decision. Another consequence is that the three Dutch members are each jointly and personally liable for the expenses incurred by the Supervisory Board and the damage that this has caused to UVS.
Almost as shameful is his remark about the payment of the (Dutch) Supervisory Board members.
Of course, it was not the wish of UVS to pay the members of the Supervisory Board; ADO has cost us more than enough anyway!
Being paid was always extremely important for Mr van Steenis. He even wanted to receive much more than UVS were eventually was prepared to pay. Also the other SB-members from Holland - Mr Swart and Mr. Schenkels - wanted to be paid for their services. But unlike the Dutch members of the Supervisory Board, the two Chinese members Felix Wu Xue Song or Andrew Chew Wei Xing have never asked for any payment. Nor were they paid.
Especially the fact that – when ADO’s financial situation was at its worst – the three Dutch members of the Supervisory Board requested priority payment of their invoices has shocked and saddened UVS.
